CyberWyoming welcomes Computer Logic as its newest member, strengthening cybersecurity for Wyoming’s accountants and small businesses.
International Accounting Day on November 10 celebrates the vital role accountants play in Wyoming’s economy, where professional, scientific, and technical services make up about 15% of small business employment, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Wyoming Faces an Accounting Talent Shortage

Wyoming is feeling the effects of an accounting talent shortage. In 2024, GoingConcern.com noted that only two CPA firms in the state were positioned to conduct government audits, with one constrained by staff shortages, underscoring capacity challenges for public-sector and private-sector clients alike. In August 2025, the CPA Journal described a nationwide shortage of accountants/CPAs, driven by retirements and fewer new entrants.
Supporting Accountants with Technology
To help safeguard these professionals and the clients they serve, CyberWyoming is welcoming Computer Logic, a Casper-based team of IT specialists, as its newest member. The small firm provides secure, compliant, and resilient technology solutions that empower accounting and other professional service businesses across the state.
“With International Accounting Day around the corner, we’re grateful to Computer Logic and their team supporting the 2026 Cybersecurity Competition for Small Businesses and keeping Wyoming accountants operating securely and efficiently,” said Laura Baker, Executive Director of CyberWyoming. “Computer Logic’s hands-on support and security expertise help firms meet federal data-protection expectations and reduce downtime for their clients.”
Webinar for Accountants: WISP Compliance
In support of International Accounting Day, the Wyoming SBDC has scheduled a November 6 online webinar called Cybersecurity for Accountants and Tax Professionals: Preparing Your Required WISP. Tax professionals, regardless of size, are required under federal safeguards to maintain a Written Information Security Plan (WISP) and protect taxpayer data. The IRS directs practitioners to Publication 4557, Safeguarding Taxpayer Data and its companion Publication 5708 for creating a WISP tailored to each firm.
Registration for the webinar can be found at https://wyomingsbdc.org/events/preparing-your-wisp/.
Computer Logic’s Role in Compliance and Security
Computer Logic’s managed security, backup, monitoring, and recovery services are designed to help local practices align with these expectations.
“Small firms are carrying a heavy load for Wyoming businesses,” said Elizabeth Waldron-Knight of Computer Logic. “Our team of seven brings over 45 years of combined experience to help accounting practices stay secure, compliant, and available and we can assist with the WISP requirement.”
