County 10’s #landerbiz series is brought to you by the Lander Chamber of Commerce to share the stories of the local movers and shakers of our Fremont County economy. This story was originally published by County 10 on June 8, 2025.

(Lander, WY) – After a number of years without a laundromat in Lander, On-Site Laundry and Lounge (located at 680 Main Street) now offers laundry services to the community, but with a stylish twist and tasty treats galore.

Folks can stop in to do a load or two, then stay to enjoy a number of ice-cream, juice, and smoothie drinks, or even grab something from the instant ramen bar if you’re feeling hungry. (For something new and different, we recommend the ube boba smoothie, made with sweet purple yams!)

While waiting and enjoying the snacks, customers can then kick back and relax at the bar or in the cozy lounge area.

If you have errands to run, fret not, On-Site will transfer the loads to the dryer and fold the clothes for you.

“Our community needed it,” owner Sophal Thompson shared. Thompson explained that she had originally considered opening a salon, but after receiving some feedback, she felt that a family-oriented laundromat was the right direction.

Thompson recalled what it was like to be a new mom bringing a baby to the laundromat, and how she always had to think ahead in terms of bringing snacks or something to help occupy the time while waiting for her laundry to finish, which is what led to the lounge/snack bar aspect of the business.

“So I always wish, if I own my own laundromat, I’m going do it like a family-style service,” Thompson added.

In addition to the brand new washers and dryers (including some oversized models for larger loads), On-Site also offers press and starch services, greaser machines, and ironing and folding. As stated above, folks can drop off their laundry and have it washed and dried at a rate of $2 per pound (with a 10-pound minimum), and they will call you when it’s done and ready to be picked up.
