As the Lander Chamber of Commerce had been anticipating, a new federal rule that was set to go into effect January 1, 2024 has done so, and it requires more than 32 million businesses to report the personal information of business owners to a new federal database.
The rule issued by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) sets forth beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements mandated by the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). This rule affects a broad spectrum of small businesses, and it is imperative you understand the scope of the rule as well as how to comply.
Join NFIB’s free webinar on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, to learn:
- What is the Corporate Transparency Act
- Who is—and who isn’t—required to report BOI
- When, where, and how BOI reports are filed
- The benefits of working with a trusted provider to simplify CTA complexity
